Coach Jack Coyston

Head Instructor – Fundamentals & Advanced Gi Programs
ROLLING OAK JIU-JITSU ACADEMY

Jack Coyston is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Carlson Gracie Coral Belt Clovis Silva. Originally from England, he moved to California in 2001, where he discovered wrestling and quickly developed a passion for grappling. Competing through high school and coaching middle school teams, Jack knew early on that teaching and grappling would be lifelong pursuits.

After high school, he began training in Judo, where he was first introduced to submissions and the gi. In 2012, he found Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu—a perfect blend of everything he loved. Jack dedicated himself fully to the art, earning his black belt on January 26, 2022.

Known for his precise armbars, attention to detail, and contagious enthusiasm for Jiu-Jitsu, Jack is committed to improving both as a practitioner and an instructor. His future goals include earning a Judo black belt and continuing to share his knowledge to help students grow as athletes and martial artists.

Jack leads Rolling Oak’s Fundamentals Gi Program (45 minutes) and Advanced Gi Program (1 hour) every Monday and Wednesday.

  • Fundamentals Gi: 5:45 PM – 6:30 PM

  • Advanced GI: 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM

In his classes, Jack emphasizes strong foundational technique, practical application, and a deep understanding of the art—creating an environment where students of all levels can grow with purpose and passion.
